Why visual content licensing matters

Most people don't think about licensing until it's a problem. A venue plays YouTube visuals on their screens — technically, that requires public performance rights that YouTube's terms don't grant. A content creator uses a stock clip in a TikTok — the "standard" license might not cover social media distribution. A production company includes visual content in a client deliverable — and the per-clip extended license costs more than the visual itself.

Licensing confusion costs time, money, and sometimes legal exposure. The traditional stock footage model makes it worse: different rights tiers per clip, separate venue licenses, restricted platforms, usage tracking requirements. For a DJ playing weekly, a bar running screens every night, or a creator posting daily, per-clip licensing is unworkable.

Surrealism.ai's approach is different: one flat annual fee, clear rights per tier, no per-clip math. Every plan includes the full visual library. The tiers determine what you can do with the content — not how many clips you can access. You never need to track usage, check license terms per clip, or worry about which tier covers your specific use case. Pick the tier that matches your workflow. Done.

Licensing FAQ

Can I use Surrealism.ai visuals in a commercial product?

Platinum plan includes full commercial rights, including white-label and broadcast. Pro covers social media and monetized content. Plus covers personal and venue display with credit.

Do I need a separate license for each venue or screen?

No. Your subscription covers all venues and screens under your account. No per-screen, per-venue, or per-event surcharges.

Can I resell the visuals?

No. All plans are for end-use only. You cannot redistribute, resell, or sublicense the visual content itself.

What happens to my rights if I cancel?

Streaming access ends when your subscription ends. For specific questions about post-cancellation rights for content already published during your active subscription, see our Terms of Service or contact support.

Do you offer custom licensing for enterprise?

Yes. Contact us for enterprise arrangements, multi-location licensing, or custom terms. See our support page.

How does this compare to stock footage licensing?

Stock sites charge per clip with separate license tiers. Extended licenses for venue display can cost $200–500 per clip. Our annual subscription covers the full library — every visual, every use case included in your tier — for one flat fee.
