Billing & Cancellation

Can I cancel my subscription at any time?

Yes. You can cancel renewal at any time from your account page — no phone calls, no chat agents. Your access continues through the end of the current billing period. Nothing is cut off the moment you cancel.

Do you offer prorated refunds if I cancel mid-cycle?

We do not issue prorated refunds for unused days in a billing period. Once a period has started, you retain access for its full duration. If you need a refund within 14 days of your initial purchase, contact support@surrealism.ai — we review these case by case.

Is billing annual or monthly?

All plans are billed annually. This keeps the per-event cost extremely low and is how we're able to include venue licensing in every tier without metering individual plays.

What happens to my access after I cancel?

Full access remains active until the last day of your paid period. After that, your account reverts to a free browsing state — you can still preview content, but streaming and licensing rights are paused until you resubscribe.

Do prices change at renewal?

Your renewal price is the rate shown at checkout and locked in for that billing year. We will notify you by email at least 30 days before any price changes take effect, giving you time to cancel before the new rate applies.

Streaming Quality & Devices

What resolution do the visuals stream at?

Content streams up to 4K UHD (3840 × 2160) with adaptive bitrate. If your connection slows mid-set, the player steps down gracefully — no freezing, no buffering spinners. On slower connections you'll see clean 1080p; 4K kicks in automatically when bandwidth allows.

Do I need to install an app?

No app required. Surrealism.ai runs entirely in any modern browser — Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge. Open a tab, log in, and you're playing visuals. No downloads, no plugins, no updates to manage the night before a show.

Can I get visuals onto a large venue screen or projector?

Yes — several ways. You can cast directly from Chrome to a Chromecast device, use AirPlay from Safari to an Apple TV, connect any laptop via HDMI, or load the site on a smart TV browser. Most venues already have HDMI inputs; a $30 cable is all you need.

Does it work on Apple TV and smart TVs?

Apple TV supports AirPlay from any Mac or iOS device running Safari. For smart TVs with a built-in browser (Samsung, LG, etc.), load surrealism.ai directly. Chromecast and Chromecast-built-in TVs can receive a tab cast from Chrome on any laptop or Android device.

What internet speed do I need?

For 1080p, a stable 10 Mbps connection is comfortable. For 4K, aim for 25 Mbps or better. Adaptive bitrate means the experience degrades gracefully — even at 5 Mbps you'll get smooth 720p. For critical live events we recommend a dedicated wired connection rather than shared venue Wi-Fi.

Licensing & Venue Rights

Am I licensed to show these visuals at a live event or venue?

Yes — venue display rights are included in every paid plan, including the entry-level Plus tier. You can stream visuals at clubs, festivals, galleries, and private events without a separate sync or public performance license. This is one of the core things that sets Surrealism.ai apart from stock footage sites.

What are the attribution requirements per plan?

Plus — a visible credit ("Visuals: Surrealism.ai") in event listings, social posts, or press materials is required.

Pro — a clickable link-back to surrealism.ai in digital contexts (bio links, event pages, YouTube descriptions) is required.

Platinum — zero attribution required. Use without any mention of Surrealism.ai, including for client work and white-label projects.

Is TV broadcast covered?

TV broadcast, streaming platform distribution (Netflix, Hulu, etc.), and film synchronization require the Platinum plan. Plus and Pro are licensed for live venue display and personal social posting only. If you're unsure whether your use case qualifies, email support@surrealism.ai before broadcast.

Can I use the visuals as a background on a live stream?

Yes. Streaming the visuals as a backdrop on Twitch, YouTube Live, or similar platforms is covered under Pro and Platinum. With Pro you'll need a link back to surrealism.ai in your stream description. With Platinum there are no attribution requirements.

Downloads

Can I download the video files?

Downloads are coming soon for Pro and Platinum subscribers. Currently, all content is streaming-only. We're building download support now — Pro and Platinum subscribers will be the first to get access when it launches, at no extra cost.

Why is streaming-only not a problem for live performances?

Most modern venues have reliable wired internet or strong Wi-Fi. Streaming at 4K over a dedicated HDMI-connected laptop is indistinguishable from a local file for the audience. Adaptive bitrate also means the stream stays smooth even if the connection wavers mid-set.

Will downloads be available on Plus as well?

Downloads are planned for Pro and Platinum tiers only. Plus will remain a streaming-focused plan. If offline access is important to your workflow, Pro is the right tier to move to.

Commercial & White-Label Use

Can I post the visuals on my social media channels?

Pro and Platinum subscribers can post clips to TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook. This includes Reels, Shorts, Stories, and feed posts. Pro requires a link-back to surrealism.ai in the caption or bio. Platinum has no attribution requirements at all.

Can I use the visuals for paid client work?

Client work — where you're delivering visuals to a third party who will display them — requires Platinum. This covers agency work, brand activations, concert production companies, and similar professional services. Pro is licensed for your own brand and social presence, not for reselling or sublicensing.

What does "white-label" mean in Platinum?

White-label means you can present Surrealism.ai content as part of your own creative output without mentioning the source. Your clients don't need to know where the visuals come from. You have zero obligation to credit or link back to Surrealism.ai in any deliverable.

Is there a separate license for broadcast television?

Platinum covers broadcast rights. There is no additional fee or separate license needed — the Platinum subscription includes broadcast, streaming platform, film, and commercial use. If your production is unusually large in scope (major network broadcast, wide-release film), email us to confirm coverage before delivery.

vs. Alternatives

How does this compare to buying stock footage?

Stock footage clips run $5–50 each and typically do not include live venue display rights. A single night's worth of visuals might require 30–60 clips — that's $150–$3,000 per event, plus the hassle of downloading, organizing, and stitching files. Surrealism.ai is a flat annual rate, venue-licensed, and ready the moment you log in.

How does this compare to hiring a VJ?

Professional VJs typically charge $2,000 or more per night, plus travel and equipment. Surrealism.ai costs a fraction of that annually. It won't replace a world-class VJ for a headline arena show — but for clubs, pop-ups, galleries, and touring artists who can't budget a full visual production, it's a serious alternative.

Why not just pull visuals from YouTube?

YouTube runs ads every 8 minutes on most content — in the middle of your set, in front of your audience. Nothing breaks the atmosphere of a live show like a car insurance ad. More importantly, public YouTube videos are not venue-licensed; playing them publicly without a license is a copyright violation. Surrealism.ai is ad-free and properly licensed for exactly this use.

Account & Access

Where do I log in?

Go to surrealism.ai/login from any browser on any device. Use the same credentials on every device — there's one login and it works everywhere.

Is there a device limit?

No device limit. Log in on your laptop, tablet, phone, or directly on a smart TV — the same account works on all of them simultaneously. We don't restrict simultaneous streams; if you're running visuals on two rooms at the same event, one subscription covers both.

How do I upgrade or downgrade my plan?

Visit your account page to manage your plan. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing period so you always get the full value of what you've paid for.

New Content

How often is new content added?

New visuals drop regularly throughout the year. There's no fixed release schedule — drops happen when something worthy is ready, not on a forced calendar. Subscribers get immediate access to everything the moment it's published; you never have to pay for an upgrade to see new work.

Do I automatically get access to new releases?

Yes. Every new piece added to the library is immediately available to all active subscribers at no extra charge. No add-on packs, no premium tiers for new drops — your subscription covers everything that's ever published while you're a member.

Can I request specific visual styles or themes?

We read every request that comes in through support. We can't promise a specific commission, but recurring requests from subscribers genuinely influence what gets made next. If you have a specific production need that requires custom work, Platinum clients can reach out to discuss commissioned content.
